Martine Nouet is one of the world’s leading whisky experts. She is former Editor of Whisky Magazine France, writes for magazines and lectures on whisky globally and is a brilliant chef. She is French after all. We caught up with Martine at her home in Nerabus on the island of Islay, where some of the worlds most famous single malts are made. Names like Bowmore, Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Bruichladdich, Lagavulin and Kilchoman are all stamped on building close to Martines home.
In this series we introduce Martine to the Craft Beer’s of Marshall Wharf Brewing Co. She samples them and then sets about preparing an Islay feast pairing Maine Beers with Scottish food with a French flair.
For a bit of fun we have attached the following video in which Martine prepares fresh lobsters with Caol Ila singlemalt whisky….and remember “never let the lobsters speak to each other before boiling”.
